Docusate (Colace)
Docusate (Colace®) is an over-the-counter laxative that is used to treat constipation.
It works by softening the stool, allowing it to pass more easily.
How do I take this medicine?
Docusate comes in capsules, which you can take with or without food. Make sure to take this medicine with a full glass of water.
How long does it take to get relief?
Docusate takes about 12 to 72 hours to start working.
What are the side effects?
The main side effects of this medication are bloating and cramping.
